The European Mid-Amateur Men’s and Ladies’ Championships will return to Portugal in 2026, with Quinta do Peru Golf & Country Club confirmed as the host venue.
The Portuguese Golf Federation, in collaboration with the EGA, will stage the two European-titled events for amateur golfers aged 25 and over at Quinta do Peru for the second consecutive year. From 4 to 6 June 2026, a field of 144 of Europe’s finest mid-amateur players, 90 men and 54 women, will compete at Quinta do Peru in what will be the first EGA European Championships of the 2026 season.
Nestled within the Arrábida Natural Park in Portugal’s picturesque Setúbal region, just 30 minutes south of Lisbon, Quinta do Peru offers a scenic setting of rolling hills, lush pine forests, and distant views of the Atlantic coast.
Opened in 1994 and designed by Rocky Roquemore, the 18-hole, par 72 course measures 6,170 meters from the back tees. The layout is celebrated for its challenging character, with narrow fairways, strategically positioned bunkers, and subtly contoured greens framed by the stunning backdrop of the Arrábida mountains.
With exemptions to the European Amateur and Ladies’ Amateur Championships, as well as the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships, on the line for the winners, competition promises to be fierce across 54 holes of stroke play.

About the European Mid-Amateur Championships
The European Mid-Amateur Men’s and Ladies’ Championships are twin EGA titles contested in parallel over 54 holes of stroke play.
The men’s championship was inaugurated in 1991, making the 2026 edition the 36th in its history. The ladies’ event followed in 2019, and both are now played concurrently at the same venue.
Formerly restricted to golfers aged 30 and over, the minimum age limit was lowered to 25 in 2021. The field, limited to 144 players, 90 men and 54 women, is cut after 36 holes to 54 men and 33 women plus ties.
Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each championship, while additional prizes recognize the leading players aged 40 and over.
Entries to the 2026 championships will open in March at www.ega-golf.ch
