Four junior European players are representing the EGA in the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Junior Championship this week.
The event, played for the first time since 2019 due to Covid restrictions, unites the top junior players aged 17-and-under from APGC member countries.
The APGC also traditionally invites the EGA to send two teams of one boy and one girl. Performance in the European Young Masters, where four Asia-Pacific juniors are invited to compete each year, is used to select the EGA teams for the event.
22 teams are competing in this year’s event, which is being played under scorching hot conditions at Orchard Golf & Country Club in the Philippines.
Spanish pair, Anna Cañado and Jorge Siyuan Hao form EGA Team 1, while Perla Sol Sigurbrandsdottir (ISL) and Jack Murphy (IRL) form EGA Team 2.
The tournament takes place over three rounds, with the sum of each pair’s six stroke play scores counting for their team’s total.
