8 INDIVIDUAL TITLES UP FOR GRABS
The EGA's championship season will begin in Portugal, where Quinta do Peru G&CC will host the European Mid-Amateur Championships (25+) from 4–6 June. Europe’s leading men and women aged 25 and over will open the summer in Setúbal.
One week later, from 11–13 June, the European Senior Championships (50+) will be played at Eléa Golf Club in Cyprus, bringing together the continent’s top senior men and ladies.
At the end of June, Linna Golf in Finland will stage the European Amateur Championship (24–27 June) where many of the world's leading male amateurs will compete not only for the European crown but also for one of the most coveted invitations in amateur golf - an exemption to The 154th Open Championship.
In late July, Allerum Golfklubb in Sweden will host the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship (22–25 July), while the European Young Masters (U16) takes place simultaneously from 23–25 July at Parador de El Saler in Spain, one of Europe’s most renowned championship venues.
ANOTHER EXCITING YEAR OF TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The traditional European Team Championship week will run from 7–11 July, with five championships taking place simultaneously across the continent:
• European Amateur Team Championship – Estonian Golf & Country Club, Estonia
• European Ladies’ Team Championship – PGA National Slieve Russell, Ireland
• European Boys’ Team Championship (U18) – Barceló Montecastillo Golf, Spain
• European Girls’ Team Championship (U18) – Golf & Country Club Zürich, Switzerland
• European Amateur & Boys’ Team Championship Division 2 – Costa Navarino, Greece
The European Team Championship for Golfers with Disability, played in opposite years to the individual event, will once again be contested in collaboration with EDGA at GC Genova Sant’Anna in Italy from 16–18 July.
Later in July, the European Team Shield Championship - designed for small and emerging golfing nations of Europe - will be held at Royal Malta Golf Club from 29 July to 1 August.
The senior team events will be staged at the beginning of September. Cabot Bordeaux in France will host the European Senior Men’s Team Championship (1–5 September), while BlackSeaRama Golf & Villas in Bulgaria stages the European Senior Ladies’ Team Championship (1–5 September). For the first time this year, due to the regular oversubscription of the senior team events, a Division 2 Championship will take place at Sedin Golf Resort in Slovakia on the same week. The new event will be contested by four player teams across three days of stroke play, and grant promotion to Division 1 for the leading three teams both the men's and women's categories.
From 9–12 September, Fohrenwald Golf Club in Austria will host the third edition of the European Mid-Amateur Team Championships (25+).
The season will conclude with the European Club Trophies in October. Hamburger GC Falkenstein in Germany will host the European Ladies’ Club Trophy from 1–3 October, followed by the European Men’s Club Trophy at Cabot Bordeaux in France from 22–24 October.
INTERNATIONAL MATCHES
International matches between the Continent of Europe and Great Britain & Ireland also feature in the calendar. The Island Golf Club in Ireland will stage both the Jacques Léglise Trophy and the Junior Vagliano Trophy on 21–22 August, which will see the continent' top U18 boys and top U16 girls compete for the prestigious trophies.
