Day 2 - European Girls' Team Championship

The Masters Course at Forsgårdens Golf Club was more scoreable in the morning than the first day of play. But midday the wind picked up like it did on day one and birdies were once again hard to find.

Alessia Nobilio from Italy started today's round with a bogey on the opening hole, but she did not look back and from there on she produced eight birdies and not a single bogey. She finished the round with a par on the last and then jumped in to the arms of her coach and team mates to celebrate.

Her score of 65 is a new course record, one stroke lower than Sarah Hricikovas from yesterday. These two, Alessia and Sarah, are also co-individual winners of the stroke play part of the championship, both with total a score of 136 (-8).

After today's round, the top eight teams move on to play for medals in match play. The stroke play determines the seeded order for the match play flights.

Tomorrows quarterfinals:

Italy (1)                            vs.         Netherlands (8)

Czech Republic (4)          vs.         Germany (5)

Sweden (3)                      vs.         Denmark (6)

Spain (2)                          vs.         England (7)

The quarterfinals will be decided with two foursomes matches in the morning and five singles matches in the afternoon. Four points are required to win the team match and advance to the next round.

The teams that did not made to the championship rounds play additional matches for final position. In the consolation matches, the teams play one foursomes match and four singles matches to decide the winning team.
