It was yet another day of low scores in Frankfurt for round 2 of the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship. The race to birdies and eagles resulted in a change at the top spot, with Andrea Revuelta now holding first place at -11. The Spaniard carded a 4-under 69, with an eagle and four birdies on her scorecard.
Sweden’s Moa Svedenskiöld was very much in the mix in the late afternoon, also reaching the total score of -11 thru 12 holes. But she and the other players still on the course had to head back to the club-house at 5.30 pm, when play was suspended due to bad weather, and will only resume on Friday morning.
The top groups of the afternoon flight were lucky enough to sign their card before the horn was blown. Denmark’s Emma Bunch carded a second 68 in a row, putting herself in contention at -10.
Her playing partner Sara Brentcheneff from France sits one shot behind after two bogey-free rounds of golf. 9 under par is also the score at the club-house for Germany’s Paula Schulz-Hanssen, and round 1 leader Sophia Fullbrook from England, who signed a 1-under 72 in the morning.
Friday should be a long and busy day in Germany, as the conclusion of round 2 should quickly be followed by round number three.
