The Berkshire Golf Club, together with England Golf, will host the prestigious European Ladies' Amateur Championship in 2028.

The championship, one of the premier events in the European amateur golf calendar, will see some of the world's top amateur women compete for one of the sport's most coveted titles.

Located in Ascot, The Berkshire Golf Club has a long and distinguished history of staging elite amateur competitions and supporting the development of women's golf. In recent years, the club has hosted events on the Rose Ladies Series as well as the R&A Girls' U16 Amateur Championship, further cementing its reputation as a leading venue for women's golf.

The Berkshire also hosts The Berkshire Trophy (men) and Astor Salver (women) every year, both of which count towards players' World Amateur Golf Rankings points.

The 2028 championship will hold particular significance for the club as it coincides with its centenary year, providing a fitting opportunity to celebrate 100 years of golfing heritage while welcoming the next generation of amateur talent.

Michael Newland, Managing Director at The Berkshire Golf Club, said: "The Berkshire Golf Club is extremely proud to be hosting the European Ladies' Amateur Championship. The club has a rich history in amateur golf, and women's golf in particular. To welcome Europe's finest amateur women golfers in what is also our centenary year makes this an extra special occasion for the club, and we very much look forward to giving players, officials and spectators a warm Berkshire welcome."

England Golf Championships Director James Crampton said: "We are delighted that The Berkshire Golf Club will host the 2028 European Ladies' Amateur Championship. The club is renowned for its outstanding courses, exceptional hospitality and strong commitment to amateur golf. Hosting a championship of this stature provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase English golf and inspire future generations of women and girls to take up and enjoy the game."

The championship is expected to attract many of the world's top amateurs from Europe and further afield, alongside officials, spectators and supporters, further enhancing England's reputation as a world-class destination for championship golf.

The 2027 edition will be held at Lausanne Golf Club in Switzerland, before heading to England in 2028.
