Louis Anceaux of France and Nevill Ruiter of the Netherlands lead the European Amateur Championship in Finland at the halfway stage.
Conditions were favourable on day 2, with sunny skies over Linna Golf, although the greens firmed up compared to the opening round. That didn't seem to bother Ruiter however, who was first to set the clubhouse lead at -8 in the late afternoon, carding a second consecutive four-under 67. Playing among the late pairings, Anceaux reached -9 to hold the outright lead midway into the back-nine, before a bogey on the 17th, only his second of the week, brought him back to share top spot with the Dutchman.
England's Sebastian Desoisa, out in the morning today, returned a one-under 70 for a total of -6. He was joined in a share of third by France's Arthur Carlier and round one leader Lev Grinberg, with Jack Buchanan of South Africa completing the group after a birdie at the last.
Rowan Sullivan of the United States holds solo seventh on -5, one ahead of Germany's Tim Wiedemeyer, whose six-under 65 was the lowest round of the day. Wiedemeyer shares eighth on -4 with American Aaron Pounds, Sweden's William Wistrand, and Germany's Emil Albers.
A packed leaderboard sets up an exciting moving day on Friday, with 14 players inside five shots of the leaders.
The halfway mark also saw the first cut made to 96 players and ties. 98 players, with the cutline at +5, will progress to Round 3. The field will be cut further to 60 and ties following Friday's third round.
