Ireland's Adrian Morrow manages to beat defending champion Tomas Persson to take the European championship title. Rocio Ruiz de Velasco from Spain dominates the ladies competition from the start to the finish line.

In gorgeous weather, it was a fight to the last hole for last year’s winner, Tomas Persson from Sweden. Despite playing his third Par round in a row, he lost that fight by one shot to the new Senior European Amateur Champion from Ireland, Adrian Morrow, who ended the tournament with a magnificent round of 69. “Playing here is fantastic, simply a beautiful place to golf. My game was perfect this year, which is the main reason I was able to beat Tomas and Bart who are both really strong competitors.”
This is the second championship title for the 59-year-old Irishman who won in 2008 in Portugal, placed fourth overall in 2010 and fifth in 2011. The 63-year-old from Stockholm, Tomas Persson, who earned the European Champion title in GC Achensee-Pertisau in 2011, as well as a bronze medal in 2010 can now add a silver medal to his collection for his 2012 performance. The third-place medal this year went to the Dutchman, Bart Nolte, with an overall score of +4 (73, 71, 73).
It was a start to finish victory for Rocio Ruiz de Velasco from Spain in the Ladies tournament. As the leader of the first two days, she continued to dominate the leaderboard on the final day despite a Double-Bogey on the first hole. Although only her second year on the tour, her performance earned her a first tournament win. “I just can’t believe it at all. The course is wonderful and the people here are very nice and friendly. I’m very, very happy.” Just two shots back after playing a fantastic round of 69 on the final day was the German, Chris Utermarck, earning her an overall score of +10 (77, 77, 69) to take second place. Isabelle Dumont from Belgium ended the tournament on +13 (79, 73, 74) for a third place finish.  (Source: http://www.euroseniors.at)
