Toulouse Take Early Lead in European Ladies' Club Trophy

The 2021 European Ladies' Club Trophy is underway at Golf de Fontainebleau, France.

16 national champion golf clubs, plus hosts, Fontainebleau (FRA) and defending champions, Smørum Golfklub (DEN) are competing for the 2021 European title.

The Golf Club de Toulouse team has taken the early lead. There two best scores out of three on Day 1 totalled -1, making them the only club under-par. Louise Reau carded a two-under-par round of 70, the second lowest score of the day, to help the French club to the top of the leaderboard.

The defending champions, Smørum Golfklub of Denmark, sit just three shots behind on +2. Former Junior Vagliano Trophy and Junior Solheim Cup player, Amalie Leth-Nissen signed for a round of level-par, helping the Danish club to a strong start as they look to defend their title.

The round of the day came from Golf Club Monticello's Elisa Galli, who finished with back-to-back birdies for a round of 69 (-3). The Italian national champions sit just three shots back in a tie for third.
