Spain successfully defended their European Ladies' Team Championship title, defeating France 5 to 2 in the final at PGA National Slieve Russell.

Balma Davalos Guaita secured the win on the 17th green, claiming an eighth European title at this level for Spain and handing France a third consecutive final defeat.

In a repeat of last year's final, Andrea Revuelta Goicoechea and Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio combined for the first point of the day. Paula Martin Sampedro and Davalos Guaita followed with a win after extra holes to put Spain 2 to 0 up.

France responded in the afternoon singles, with recent Amateur champion Valentine Delon winning 6&5. Martin Sampedro, the 2025 European Ladies' Amateur champion, then won her match 5&3 to move Spain to the title, with Davalos Guaita completing the win 2&1.

Spain captain Irene Rollan said: "I'm so happy for my team, it's been an amazing week. It was a really hard fight against the French. We won last year and we knew it was really hard to win but we did, I am so proud of my team."

England secured third place in Flight A with a 4.5 to 2.5 win over Finland. Davina Xanh, Sophia Fullbrook and Patience Rhodes all won their singles matches.

Sweden won their derby against Denmark 3.5 to 1.5. Hosts Ireland lost 3 to 2 to Italy in the seventh-place play-off.
