Spain Earn Number One Seed - European Senior Ladies' Team Championship

Spain earned the number-one seed for the Flight A match play after two days of stroke play at Mont Garni Golf, Belgium.

The Spanish team totalled 31-over-par over the first two rounds. The same score was achieved by the hosting nation, although a lower total in the two sixth 'non-counting scores' means that Spain take the first seed while Belgium take the second.

Defending champions, France, will be seeded third in Flight A after ending the day one shot back on 32-over-par.

England (+37), Sweden (+39), Germany (+41), Ireland (+50) and the Netherlands (+55) are the five other teams to make it into the medal-contention match play flight.

Sylvie Van Molle led the individual ranking, carding scores of 70 (-3) and 69 (-4) for a total of seven-under-par.

The medal-contention matches on the first day of match play are:

Spain vs Netherlands

England vs Sweden

France vs Germany

Belgium vs Ireland
