Nicolai Hojgaard Leads European Amateur Championship with One Round to Play

Nicolai Hojgaard leads the European Amateur Championship with one round left to play. The Dane fired a four-under-par 68 on day three, his lowest score of the tournament, to reach eight-under-par overall.

He will be hoping to secure himself a spot at The 147th Open, and become the first Danish player to lift the trophy since Lucas Bjerregaard in 2010, by the end of the final round this afternoon.

Mitch Waite, England, also shot a 68 on day three, and will be in the final pairing with Hojgaard, just one shot back.

Halfway leader, Blake Windred, carded a four-over-par 76 in the third round to drop into a tie for 15th place.

Four players are tied for third place on five-under-par, round one leader, Perry Cohen, England's Jack Gaunt, New Zealand's Daniel Hillier, and Jiri Zuska from the Czech Republic.

63 players made the 54-hole cut, which was at three-over-par.
