Charlotte Naughton from England is the 2026 European Ladies’ Amateur Champion. Teeing off in the final round withthe outright lead, she never left the top of the leaderboard, and eventually won the trophy with a two-shot margin.
Naughton cut her lead in half on the very first hole with a bogey, enabling Sweden’s Meja Örtengren to come one shot away from the top. But the English player pulled away withbirdies on four and five, and kept her foot on the gas pedalwith a long birdie on the 10th.
After entering the final two holes four shots clear of Örtengren, Charlotte Naughton again cut the lead in half witha double bogey on 17. But a birdie on the final par 5 wasenough for her to enjoy victory.
Örtengren still pleased the Swedish crowd with a birdie on the 18th that gave her the silver medal. She finished one shot ahead of Ebba Nordstedt, who came from behind to put twolocal players on the podium.
After this brilliant win, Charlotte Naughton will now travel to Royal Lytham & St Annes to play in next week’s AIG Women’s Open.
