Charlotte Naughton from England is the 2026 European Ladies' Amateur Champion. Teeing off in the final round at Allerum Golf in Sweden with the outright lead, she never left the top of the leaderboard and won the trophy with a two-shot margin.
Naughton cut her lead in half on the very first hole with a bogey, allowing Sweden's Meja Örtengren to move within one shot of the top. But the English player pulled away with birdies on four and five, and kept up the pressure with a long birdie putt on the 10th.
After entering the final two holes four shots clear of Örtengren, Naughton again cut the lead in half with a four-putt double bogey on 17, although bounced back with a birdie on the final par 5 to secure the biggest victory of her amateur career.
The win marks the fifth time an English player his lifted the European Ladies' Amateur Championship trophy, and the first since Alice Hewson in 2019.
Speaking after her win, Naughton said: "I'm so happy, I'm over the moon really. I put a lot of work into this event and played so well and I'm just so happy."
Reflecting on the final round, she added: "I didn't have the best of starts today, I was definitely nervous, but I managed to stay calm and play some good golf and that was what my goal was today."
With the win, the 18-year-old earns a spot at the AIG Women's Open taking place at Royal Lytham & St Annes next week.
On her upcoming appearance at the AIG Women's Open, Naughton said: "I'm so excited. I think it's a great opportunity to play among some of the best golfers in the world. I think I'll just go and have fun and try my hardest."
Örtengren pleased the Swedish crowd with a birdie on the 18th that gave her second place outright. The silver is her second medal in the event, following bronze in 2024. She finished one shot ahead of Ebba Nordstedt, who came from behind with a 68 (-4) in the final round to put two local players on the podium.
Sara Brentcheneff (FRA) narrowly missed out on a medal, also finishing on -5, while 2022 champion, Savannah De Bock (BEL) rounded out the top five on -4 alongside halfway leader, Alvilda Julia Wiberg (DEN).
