Golf Club de Lausanne together, with Swiss Golf, will host the 2027 edition of the European Ladies' Amateur Championship, ten years after the club first staged the event.
Set on the heights above the Olympic capital, Golf Club de Lausanne will welcome many of the continent's leading amateurs across the four days of competition next July. Founded in 1921, the tight parkland layout is lined with centuries-old trees and sits at 850 metres above sea-level.
The club has hosted some of the continent's most prestigious amateur events in the past, including the 1971 European Amateur Team Championship, the 2002 St Andrews Trophy, and more recently, the 2017 European Ladies' Amateur Championship. That year, France's Agathe Laisne lifted the trophy and has since claimed two Ladies European Tour titles this season. The podium that year featured two Swiss players who have gone on to professional careers: Albane Valenzuela finished second and Morgane Métraux third.
Club director Pierre Rindlisbacher said hosting the 2027 Championship is an honour and a privilege for the club. "Throughout this exceptional week, we will open our doors to the public and hope they enjoy high-level golf in a unique setting. Our teams, our partners and our volunteers are already mobilised to make this event a real celebration of golf," he said.
The event will be another in a run of European Championships recently held in Switzerland, following the European Girls' Team Championship in Zurich earlier this month, the European Boys' Team Championship in Geneva in 2023, and the European Amateur Championship in 2020.
