The 2027 European Amateur Championship will now be held at Ganton Golf Club, Yorkshire, from 23-26 June.

The event location, which was originally due to be at Woodhall Spa Golf Club (Lincolnshire), has been moved due to completion dates of an all-new clubhouse redevelopment at the home of England Golf, which interfere with the date of the championship.

The 2026 edition of the event takes place from 24-27 June at Linna Golf in Finland, with the winner booking a spot at The Open.

The tournament consistently ranks amongst the strongest amateur stroke play events in the world by the World Amateur Golf Ranking and boasts an impressive list of past participants. Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg, Sergio Garcia, and Paul Casey have all either won the event or finished on the podium, alongside numerous other notable names.

The last two EGA individual championships to be held in England have both yielded home winners. Alfie Plant triumphed in a three-way play-off at Walton Heath in 2017, while Alice Hewson won the women’s equivalent event after a seven-hole play-off at Parkstone Golf Club in 2019.
