With a history dating back to 1888, the Royal Malta Golf Club is the island's only 18-hole course.
History
The European Men’s Team Shield Championship, established in 2015, is designed for small and emerging golfing nations of Europe. Countries not competing in the Division 1 or 2 European Amateur Team Championships of the same year are eligible to compete.
Around 12 teams of four players compete over four days, beginning with 18 holes of stroke play qualifying, followed by three days of match play with one foursomes and two singles matches. The championship is held alongside the European Ladies’ Team Shield Championship.
