History
The European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, established in 1986, is the leading 72-hole amateur stroke play event in Europe.
Held in late July at different venues across Europe, and with an invitation to the AIG Women's Open on offer for the winner, the championship typically attracts one of the strongest fields in women's amateur golf.
The event is a staple on the schedule of the women's European Amateur Order of Merit, and is also the final counting tournament in the AIG Women's Open Amateur Series, offering an additional qualifying opportunity to the women's major championship.
Notable former winners include Carlota Ciganda, who won at age 14, and European Solheim Cup stars like Caroline Hedwall, Bronte Law, and Céline Boutier.
The tournament has seen many other notable participants including as Linn Grant, Maja Stark, Sophia Popov, Suzann Pettersen and many more.
