The EGA Represented in St. Andrews - Arnaud Baratçabal Referees at The 150th Open

Arnaud Baratçabal will represent the EGA at The Open in St Andrews.

On his 10-year anniversary as the EGA’s Championship Manager, Arnaud will have the honour of refereeing the world’s greatest players on the special occasion of the 150th Open Championship.

The R&A extended an invitation to the EGA to nominate one referee for this year’s championship, which has been given to Arnaud. A fully qualified rules official, he has officiated a number of high-profile tournaments in the past including the Evian Masters, the French Open and the Seve Trophy.

“I’m enjoying every minute of it” said Arnaud. “It’s great to meet so many people I know from previous experiences or by email through my work with the EGA.”

“We are proud to be offered this refereeing opportunity at the 150th Open Championship” said Michael Thannhäuser, EGA General Secretary. “The EGA will be well represented with Arnaud’s presence, and I wish him a most memorable week.”

Arnaud will walk with game number 26 (11:15am) on Thursday featuring Alexander Bjork (SWE), Oliver Farr (WAL) and Matthew Ford (ENG). On Friday he’ll accompany game 5 (7:19 am) again as a walking referee, with Aaron Wise (USA), Si Woo Jim (KOR) and Sam Horsfield (ENG).
