European Club Trophy

RCF La Boulie achieve hat-trick

Racing Club de France - La Boulie leads the 2016 European Ladies' Club Trophy at Pravets Golf Club, Bulgaria, from start to finish to claim victory for the third consecutive time.

The ladies from RCF La Boulie finish 12 strokes ahead of the rest of the field with a total of 414. Second place was taken by Denmark's Smorum Golf Club (426) one stroke ahead of France's Paris Country Club (427).

Despite a three-shot lead after day one and a five-shot lead after day two by the defending champions, nothing seemed impossible for the chasing clubs. However, with rounds of 68 by Alexandra Yshard, 72 by Anyssia Herbaut and 74 by Josephine Farrando on the final day, the Racingwomen demonstrated once more their consistency and distanced themselves further from the field. It is not surprising that Farrando and Yshard also share the top of the leaderboard in the individual ranking with a total of 209 strokes, recording 15 and 13 birdies respectively.

This year's win makes it a total four wins for RCF La Boulie as the club claimed the gold medal in 2005 for the first time. Only Germany's Golf Club St. Leon-Rot could lift the trophy one more time - for the first time in 2004 and then four consecutive times from 2008 to 2011. The Germans, however, were never in contention this year and had to settle for 11th place.

The Winners: Racing Club de France - La Boulie (FRA)
