Switzerland on top at the European Ladies’ Team Championship in Sweden

Inclement weather greeted the players at the Upsala Golf Club in Sweden where 12 teams were vying for the match play seedlings at the European Ladies' Amateur Team Championship.

That did not deter Pauline Roussin Bouchard of France from turning the front nine in -4, highlighted by an eagle at the short par 5 8th. However, she could not capitalise further on the smooth, yet undulating greens, to finish on this score despite reaching -5 at the 10th. Switzerland's Ginnie Lee was one further back, leading her team to be top qualifiers from France and Denmark. Iceland rounded-out the top 8 for the match play's Flight A, with Italy, Sweden Spain and Germany also qualified for playing the title in positions 4th-7th, respectively.

Flight B for the minor positions will be contested in a four-team round-robin format by the teams that finished 9th to 12th: Czech Republic, Netherlands, Slovakia, Belgium.
