Marc Mazur from Germany wins 2016 European Mid-Amateur Championship

German Double at the European Mid-Amateur Championship in the Czech Republic

The European Mid-Amateur Championship finished today at Golf Resort Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, the three round stroke play event had to be reduced to 36 holes due to the adverse weather conditions.

Marc Mazur, from Stuttgarter Golf Club Solitude, Germany, claimed the European Mid-Amateur title with the tournament's best round of 67 today, making it a total of 141 (-3). Compatriot Claudio Consul (-2) and first round leader Henrik Henningsson, from Sweden (-1) finish 2nd and 3rd and complete the trio that was able to stay under par for the championship.

The 2nd round could not be played due to the big delays on Day 1 and 2. With 14 player within 5 shots off the lead after the first round, it was an exciting final day at Golf Resort Karlovy Vary with a strong finish from the two Germans.
