Italy and Spain reach European Girls' Team Championship Final

Italy and Spain face off tomorrow in the final of 2018 European Girls' Team Championship.

Friday was another sunny day at Forsgårdens Golf Club.

The morning foursomes both went to Italy but there was some drama. The second match was intense with players wearing their hearts on their sleeves. The Czech Republic made it to the 19th but only to see Emelie Alba Paltrinieri roll in a birdie putt on the first extra hole.

In the afternoon singles, the Italians proved too strong for the Czech team, winning three singles to securee their third straight final.

Sweden and Spain, the two countries with most championships to their credit, faced off in the other semi-final. They shared the foursomes, and in the afternoon singles Spain came out strong and were up early in a few matches.

The Swedish team did fight back but in the end Spain were the better team today. Tomorrow they will face Italy for their eighth European Girls' Team Championship title.

The matches will be decided with two foursome matches in the morning and five single matches in the afternoon. Teams need to win four matches to win the title.
