Celia Barquin Leads the European Ladies' Amateur Championship After Round 3

It was an electric day on round three of the European Ladies' Amateur Championship at Penati Golf Resort, Slovakia. Surrounding thunderstorms came close to suspending play on multiple occassions, but all narrowly missed the venue.

It was Celia Barquin who provided the spark on the Heritage course, carding a new course-record to take a two-shot lead. The Spanish player made nine birdies and no bogeys on her way to a 63 to reach a total of 13-under-par. Barquin would become the third Spanish player to lift the trophy in the space of five years should she maintain her lead through 72 holes.

Leader after rounds one and two, Esther Henseleit, carded a two-under-par 70 in round three and sits in second place on 11-under-par.

Three players are tied for third place on nine-under-par, Marina Escobar, Alessia Nobilio, and Frida Kinhult, while defending champion, Agathe Laisne, is six shots off the pace on seven-under-par in sixth.

Whoever tops the leaderboard come the conclusion of play on Saturday afternoon will be crowned European Ladies' Amateur Champion and earn an invite to the 2019 Ricoh Women's British Open.
