2018 Jacques Léglise Trophy: Preview

The 51st Jacques Léglise Trophy match between Great Britain & Ireland (GB&I) and the Continent of Europe takes place in Finland this week.

The South East Course at Kytäjä golf, hosting its first EGA event, will set the stage for the two days of matchplay between the two nine-player junior teams.

The Continent of Europe, and captain, Jeroen Stevens, will be attempting to win the match for a third straight year following victories at Ballybunion in 2017 and Prince's GC in 2016.

Finland will be well represented at home by Saku Tuusa and Eemil Alajärvi while Spain and the Netherlands are also represented by two players.

David Puig and Eduard Rousaud, the only returning player from the team's victory last year, both recently won the European Boys' Team Championship for Spain while Jerry Ji, who took home the bronze medal from the European Amateur Championship in his home country, the Netherlands, will be joined by compatriot Kiet Van der Weele.
